Eligibility and Cost

All undergraduate students, and graduate students without an assistantship, who are registered for 5 credit hours or more at Iowa State University, are eligible to enroll in the ISU Student & Scholar Insurance Plans. International Students who are registered for 1 credit hour or more are required to enroll themselves and their dependents into the medical insurance. 

Graduate assistants with a teaching, research, or administrative assistantship are required to be enrolled in the Self Only medical insurance through ISU SSHIP.

ALL incoming non-benefits eligible Visiting Scholars are required to enroll themselves, including any accompanying dependents, in ISU Student and Scholar Health Insurance.
